Summary

Burke Mountain Ski Resort, located in East Burke, the heart of Vermont's spectacular Northeast Kingdom, is seeking entertainment for the upcoming ski season. There are two venues at the resort and several events seeking performers. Local artists, regional artists, and those who will already be traveling through the area are welcome to submit, as travel costs will not be covered. All artists must provide their own equipment and sound.

  • Tamarack Pub: An upscale pub with a capacity of 80 offering a full menu at the base of Burke Mountain. Volume of music needs to be kept low, as the pub is connected to the dining area. They are seeking performers on both Friday and Saturday nights through the ski season (December 21, 2007 – March 29, 2008). Performers will be compensated $500 total for both nights and will be provided lodging. Tamarack Pub is seeking jazz, blues, mellow rock, acoustic, and cover bands consisting of no more than 3 performers.

  • Bear’s Den: A rustic ski bar with a big open hearth fireplace half way up Burke Mountain (with road access, of course). Bands set up outside the bar in the café, an area with a 400-500 person capacity. They are seeking good time music of all genres that can get the audience dancing.

Specific events they are seeking bands for include:
  • October 27th, 2007 Halloween Party
  • January 19, 2008
  • February 2, 2008 - Mardi Gras Party

There may be additional dates at Bear’s Den as the season draws closer. Each of these events will compensate artists for their performance $800-$1600 (negotiable). Depending on the size of the event, a sound engineer may be recruited.

  • Bear’s Den Singer Song Writer Series: A casual, laid back Thursday night tradition at Burke Mountain. Performances take place 5pm-7pm every Thursday from December 27, 2007- March 27, 2008 in an area with a capacity of 75. Artists will be compensated for their performances $75, 100% of tips collected by “passing the hat”, lodging for the night, and a complimentary pass to ski/ride the mountain.
