Summary

CAFE 939 is the newest venture for Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. It is a public venue located in the heart of Boston's Back Bay area. Immediately upon entering the 200 capacity club, its artists and guests feel the lush, sexy, playful vibe that the room supports. They are interested in featuring a variety of genres that want to work with their staff, some of the best sound/tech/hospitality folks in the industry, in hopes of making their experience and that of the audience memorable!

They are looking for artists that are ready to play in a 200 capacity room with state of the art equipment and with a staff that knows the industry. Eclectic would be that magic word which also matches the campus focus on exposing their "in-house"/Berklee student talent on bills with local, regional, national and international touring bands. They are looking for local, regional, national and international talent that has a proven track record of success (basically you can sell out the room).

Music is presented four nights a week. CAFE 939 has 2-3 artists per bill, depending on the artists. Set times will vary, but artists must be able to accommodate at least a 30 minute set.

The venue can provide a backline but prefers that artists bring their own gear. Café 939 has state-of-the-art sound equipment with an in-house sound engineer and lighting tech. Once booked, they will contact selected artists with tech specs and requirements. They will also work with any touring artist and their sound/tech teams. Arrangements will be made with 939’s Production Manager.

Compensation is commensurate with the ability to "sell out" the room. A local track record is great but not necessary for a supporting act. The headliner should have the ability to be in that position, and all bands should market their shows as a complete package. Once booked, Café 939 will work with the talent to support their show.

The ultimate goal of this venue is to support Boston's thriving music scene as well as bring attention to up and coming artists. They are very excited to be part of the world's music community!
