Summary

The Calgary Reggae Festival Society presents the Calgary International Reggae Festival (ReggaeFest); one of Western Canada 's festivals showcasing Reggae music and culture. ReggaeFest takes place at Shaw Millennium Park in downtown Calgary and several indoor/outdoor venues from Wednesday, August 13 to Saturday, August 16, 2014. The 2014 festival will feature 10 - 15 performers with a minimum of one (1) being selected from Sonicbids membership. Preference will be given to artistes with a high level of originality, performing original material and displaying complete command of the performance stage.

Once you submit, please be sure to complete your EPK with audio, bio, and photos. Submissions without information on their EPK cannot be considered. 

Past international performers at ReggaeFest include Beres Hammond, Brinsley Forde, Bryan Art, Cherine Anderson, Freddie McGregor, George Nooks, Hawkeye, Inner Circle, Ky-Mani Marley, La Comuna, Leroy Sibbles, Lukie D, Maxi Priest, Nadine Sutherland, New Kingston, Rastrillos, Sadiki, Sugar Minott, Tinga Stewart Tony Rebel, Wayne Wonder and Yaz Alexander. Some Canadian artistes that have been showcased in the past include Ammoye, Amoy, Chester Miller, Elaine Shephard, House of David Gang, Third Branch, Makeshift Innocence, Redeye Empire, Steele, Sonia Collymore, Souljah Fyah, The Steadies, Tasha T, Korexion, Fenom, Rebel Emergency, Soulicitors, Mikey Dangerous, Michael St. George, Tony Anthony and Jason Wilson.

Compensation

Will be based on a negotiated "delivered package" cost. Performers relation to the Calgary market will greatly influence compensation. Calgary Reggae Festival will NOT cover costs associated with getting to the festival such as international air transportation, visa or immigration costs. 

Terms And Conditions

  • This is a family friendly venue. The performance must be appropriate for all age groups.

    • All performances MUST be for a general audience. No infractions will be tolerated. Selections will be partially based on lyric / performance content.

    Preference is given to original material.

    Immigration and visa fees are the responsibility of the performer.

    CRF does NOT promote "Headliners." All performers are given equal billing.
