Capital EX is Edmonton Alberta Canada’s biggest summer celebration. The 10 day festival is attended by 750,000 people, and features wild midway rides, indulgent foods, and a host of live entertainment and shopping opportunities.

Capital EX is looking for a song for direct placement to be used in all TV and radio promotions for the festival. 1-2 songs will be selected, and a $1,500 CAN flat licensing fee will be paid for selected songs. All agreements are non-exclusive. Artists can submit a maximum of 3 songs for consideration.

Selected songs will be played in heavy rotation on radio stations in Edmonton and Northern Alberta. It will also be featured on the Capital EX website.

Northlands will be considering two categories for song placement: one that is more youthful and family oriented (something high energy that kids would dance to, or people would subconsciously start singing). The second category would be more adult orientated, embodying a more refined edge fitting of a fine food, art and cultural event. Ideally the songs should have lyrics that could be considered a “call to action” i.e. “come on, come on” or “let’s go party”.

Genres accepted include adult contemporary, pop, urban, R&B, jazz, rock, and alternative.
