Summary

Chaplin's Live is an acoustically perfect theater that supports local, regional, and national performers. Originally the Gem Theater, it was built as a vaudeville theater that once hosted greats such as Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin. They features a wide array of genres, from Americana to reggae to electro to rock.

Shows are scheduled on Friday and Saturday nights. Show times are at 8PM till about 11. Bills generally feature a headliner with two openers or an opener with two co-bills. They also have a Thursday Night Showcase program featuring three co-bills aimed at those who are new to the area. Chaplin's also offers every band the ability to record the show in audio or video.


Compensation information:


  • Openers are paid $50 if they sell ten tickets

  • Bands playing Thursday must sell 5 tickets and receive 50% of sales after that

  • Co-bills are expected to sell 30 tickets. Chaplin's take $75 off the top and bands receive 60% after that

  • Headliners are expected to sell 70 tickets. Chaplin's take $150 off the top and bands receive 60% after that

  • Bands select the most appropriate ticket price; minimum ticket price is $10

  • A poll is taken at the door to determine how many people each band drew
