To be held at the Booth Playhouse, Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, the most prestigious venue in the Carolinas.

The Charlotte Music Awards is the original awards show in the Carolinas. Its founder Jeffrey Cheen, a 40 yr. veteran of the music business, exposes participating artists, not just the winners, to his vast network of A&R execs, publishing companies and film & TV music directors worldwide. For bands participating from outside the Carolinas, it is a great way to get exposure in the Southeastern US.

There will be 3 nominees and 1 winner selected for each category:

  • Rock Album Of The Year

  • Pop Album Of The Year

  • Alternative Album Of The Year

  • R&B Artist Of The year

  • Hip Hop Artist Of The Year

  • Country Artist of The Year

  • Jazz Artist of The Year

  • Americana Artist Of The Year

  • Singer/Songwriter Of The Year

  • Best Album Cover

All winners will receive a very nice golden style and heavy trophy and a swag bag.

Some success stories include: South 85 (picked up a manager and a booking agency), The St. James Gospel Choir (invited to perform at 2 rock festivals), the Thistledown Tinkers (signed with an agency and was contacted by an attendee to perform in Las Vegas), and Tropic Culture, a Latin band, have doubled their bookings since winning an award. Another former winner is Country chart topper Jimmy Wayne and Arthur Smith (producer and writer of "Dueling Banjos").
