Choochokam Music & Arts Festival 2008

AlliKat Records is looking for artists for the 33rd annual Choochokam Music and Arts Festival. The festival will be held July 12-13, 2008 in Langley, WA. With over 16,000 people in attendance last year, this year promises to be even bigger. There are 8 slots reserved for Sonicbids members.



Artists must be from the Northwest region (this includes Oregon, Washington, Idaho, N. California or British Columbia) and play original music. Cover bands and tribute bands will not be considered. All artists will be compensated, and this is negotiated at the time of booking. This is a non-profit event, compensation is modest, and artists are asked to consider this before submitting.



The festival boasts 5 stages including a main stage, acoustic stage, park stage, emerging artist's stage, and children’s stage. Choochokam, loosely translated from the Hopi word, means “gathering of the stars”. This year's festival will host 50 performers and over 100 fine artists and craftspeople at this street festival in beautiful seaside Langley, just northwest of Seattle on Whidbey Island. The event is free to the public.



Allikat Records will provide a staffed artists booth next to the main stage to showcase and sell artists’ CDs and other merchandise as a service to all performers and takes no percentage for this service.
