Choochokam Music & Arts Festival 2009

AlliKat Records is looking for artists for the 34th annual Choochokam Music and Arts Festival. The festival will be held July 11-12, 2009 in Langley, WA. With over 16,000 people in attendance last year, this year promises to be even bigger. There are 8 slots reserved for Sonicbids members.

Artists must be from the Northwest region (this includes Washington, Oregon, N. California, and Idaho) and play original music. Cover bands and tribute bands will not be considered. All artists will be compensated, and this is negotiated at the time of booking. This is a non-profit event, compensation is modest, and artists are asked to consider this before submitting.

The festival boasts 4 stages including a main stage, acoustic stage, emerging artist and family stage. Choochokam, loosely translated from the Hopi word, means “gathering of the stars”. This year's festival will host more than 40 performers and over 100 fine artists and craftspeople at this street festival in beautiful seaside Langley, just northwest of Seattle on Whidbey Island. The event is free to the public.

Allikat Records will provide a staffed artist booth next to the main stage to showcase and sell artists’ CDs and other merchandise as a service to all performers and takes no percentage for this service.
