Summary
The 21st Annual City Stages will be held June 19-21, 2009 in downtown Birmingham. With 100 artists playing on six stages, City Stages boasts a broad range of musical performances including rock, alternative, hip-hop, country, R&B, gospel, classical and singer/songwriter. The festival also features a Children's Festival, arts & crafts and terrific southern food. Last year's festival attendance was 100,000. City Stages is also continuing its efforts to become an environmentally sustainable event.
Performers at this year's City Stages include: Jane's Adiction, REO Speedwagon, Styx, The Doobie Brothers, .38 Special, Charlie Wilson, Neville Brothers, Young Jeezy, Indigo Girls, En Vogue, Johnny Lang, Guster, Matt Kearney, The Whigs, Courtney Love and more.
City Stages has reserved 3 performance slots for Sonicbids artists. Selected artists will be compensated for their performance. Pay ranges from $300-$10,000, depending on the artist.
City Stages sponsors include Miller, Alabama Power, Legacy Credit Union, Publix, Sheraton, Southern Comfort and many more.
