CMJ Sonicbids Spotlight Artist gives you the chance to get in front of over 140,000 music fans and industry professionals on CMJ.com and Sonicbids.com. Each month, four Sonicbids artists will be featured. One of these will be chosen by CMJ editors to receive the monthly grand prize, to be included on the Download This! section of cmj.com, which is visited by thousands of music business professionals, radio and retail executives and music enthusiasts worldwide. At least 3 artists selected for the spotlight will be booked to play at CMJ Music Marathon 2011./n/n


This week's CMJ Sonicbids Spotlight Artist: Life Size Maps


CMJ and Sonicbids are looking for the best independent talent from around the world to feature as part of the CMJ Sonicbids Spotlight. Each month CMJ Staff will review Sonicbids band submissions and select no less than four (one per week) artists per month for our Spotlight winners. Over 200 artists have been featured since this Spotlight program started.

Each month:


  • Selected artists will receive a week-long Spotlight placement on the CMJ.com homepage, which has over 40,000 visitors per week, and the Sonicbids homepage, which has over 100,000 visitors per week.
  • One of the four selected monthly artists will be chosen by CMJ editors to receive the grand prize, to be included on the Download This! section of cmj.com, which is visited by thousands of music business professionals, radio and retail executives and music enthusiasts worldwide.
  • At least three artists selected for the Fall Spotlight will be booked to play at CMJ Music Marathon 2011.

Artists are welcome to separately submit multiple songs for review; however each submission must feature a different track.

Please note:


  • The CMJ.com website is being redesigned and relaunched in November 2010. Selections and features will resume after the launch.
  • In order to be eligible, prior to submitting artists must complete all sections of their EPK and include a high-resolution photograph. Your Sonicbids membership must also be current in order to be selected.
