Summary

The Coe College Student Activities Committee (SAC) is a student run organization that provides a wide variety of entertainment for Coe College, a small, private, liberal arts school in Cedar Rapids, IA. The entertainment is geared towards the whole Coe community and falls into a mix of different genres. Preferred genres include college bands, alternative, indie, local acts. A member of NACA, Coe College is looking for both music and non-music (magicians, comedians, hypnotists, etc.) performers for several different on campus opportunities:

- PUB Live Series - The Pub Live Committee makes the Pub come alive on the weekends by bringing various musicians and bands to the Pub. Recent shows include Skinny, The Dog and Everything, and Ludo, all of whom are very well established musicians. Shows are typically held every Thursday night. PUB Live Series is currently considering artists for this current semester and for 2007 Fall semester.

- Mainstream Committee - Mainstream Committee handles all the comedians, hypnotists, bigger bands, and Labor Day weekend shows. Mainstream has a bigger budget with fewer shows. These shows are often more expensive and draw a larger crowd. Mainstream Committee will consider artists for 2007 Fall semester.

-Coffeeshop Series - Shows take place nearly every Wednesday night and bring in up-and-coming artists that keep the coffee shop vibe.

-Multicultural Committee - Multicultural Committee is responsible for bringing entertainment and speakers to Coe who come from a different cultural perspective either from within the United States or the world and are able to draw a diverse crowd. Multicultural Committee has about one show per month and also helps other organizations to bring programs to Coe. Multicultural Committee will consider artists for 2007 Fall semester

- Additional Opportunities - There are several additional performance spots on campus, including the college theatre, with a capacity of 1200.

Submitting artists will be considered for all on campus opportunities, and Coe College SAC will ultimately decide where each artist will perform. Artists will be compensated for their performance, with exact amounts to be discussed once accepted.
