Summary

Houla Entertainment is looking for 5 Sonicbids artists to perform in showcases for the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities’ (APCA) College Conferences. This is a great opportunity for artists to gain exposure.

Houla Entertainment represents national and international artists from California to North Carolina for colleges, fairs, and festivals, and also promotes national concerts.

The Opportunity

Selected artists will be represented by Houla Entertainment, and will perform at an APCA College Conference for talent buyers from colleges/universities and the US military. The APCA College Conference has regions through out the US, and conferences will take place in the following cities:

  • Syracuse, NY
  • Chicago, IL
  • Houston, TX
  • Hershey, PA 
  • Atlanta, GA
To be considered, please submit the following:
  • High-res photo.
  • Video at least 3 minutes in length of professional quality. A live performance video is preferred. 
  • Biography of 150 words or less, which includes any television or high profile experience

The Band

Artists of all genres, as well as novelty acts including jugglers, comics, lecturers, etc., are encouraged to apply. 

Applicants must be:

  • Young artists (ages 17 to 30) or experienced variety
    acts.
  • Be willing to work very hard
  • Able to travel extensively and often
  • Able to put on an excellent show for potential buyers.     

The Gig

The cost to showcase at an APCA college conference ranges from $1,400 to $1,750 (estimated), plus basic expenses including travel, lodging, and food.

Artists must be able to pay the showcase fee to APCA upon being accepted for a showcase. You will only be required to pay the fee if Houla Entertainment agrees to represent you, and you are chosen by the college organization to showcase. The fee is paid directly to the college organization.

Sound and lights are provided by APCA. Artists must bring their own instruments as APCA does not supply the backline.

There is a strict no drugs or alcohol policy in force at any event of Houla Entertainment and collaborating universities.
