Colours of Ostrava, the biggest international music festival in the Czech Republic and one of the biggest music events in the Central Europe, will celebrate its 11th anniversary in 2012. Colours takes place in the well-known castle entertainment district and on the Cerna Louka Fairgrounds. Ostrava is the third largest city in the Czech Republic and the region has more than 1.2 million inhabitants. The audience attendance for Colours is approximately 30,000 people and this was the first festival in the Czech Republic to be sold out one month ahead of time. This is an innovative and multi-genre festival, aimed not only at the younger generation, but fans of all music styles. World, dance, ethnic music and a host of well-known names from the Czech music scene, including alternative groups and artists will be in attendance. The diversity of styles is well-reflected and expressed through the festival's name – Colours of Ostrava.


Colours features 16 stages including 4 big open-air stages (the main stage of which has capacity of 15,000 people), 6 indoor stages, a theatre stage, a workshop stage, a kids stage, a cinema and live discussions.
