Summary
The Congress Theater is a 4,000 capacity, historic music venue just outside of downtown Chicago. There is live music 2-3 nights per week at this historic venue.
All genres and ethnic communities are hosted. Artists are usually booked a minimum of 2 months and a maximum of 6 months in advance.
Artists should be able to draw 1,000 in the area, but if a headliner is already booked who can draw fill the place, artists with less of a draw will be considered. Previous headliners at the Congress Theater include: Prince, Iggy Pop, Nine Inch Nails, The Killers, Ludacris, Billy Idol, Korn, The Pogues, Prodigy and The Shins.
The Congress Theater books standard contracts and also does competitions and showcases that may or may not include guarantees. Backline will be provided for certain shows and there is in-house sound provider.
