Summary

Don't miss your LAST CHANCE to submit to CT Folk, presenters of the Connecticut Folk Festival and Green Expo, who have announced their 2011 Song Competition, a new component of the festival. Artists can submit their music for a chance to perform at this year's event. At least 5 Sonicbids artists are guaranteed to perform at the festival. One winner will be picked from those five. The winner of the competition will receive a $150 award and will perform their two winning songs as part of their Main Stage lineup. Finalists are expected to perform in Edgerton Park, New Haven, CT on Saturday, September 10, 2011./n/nCT Folk, presenters of the Connecticut Folk Festival and Green Expo, have announced their 2011 Song Competition, a new component of the festival. Artists can submit their music for a chance to perform at this year's event. At least 5 Sonicbids artists are guaranteed to perform at the festival. One winner will be picked from those five.



The winner of the competition will receive a $150 award and will perform their two winning songs as part of their Main Stage lineup alongside Vance Gilbert, Nerissa & Katryna Nields, and Leo Kottke.



Entry Guidelines:




    1. Solo or Duo Singer-Songwriters are invited to submit their original songs.

    2. Songs may be published or recorded, provided that the publication/recording date is after January 1, 2011.

    3. Each song entered should not exceed 4 minutes.

    4. Writers retain all rights to the songs.

    5. Entry is exclusively via Sonicbids.

    6. Entry Fees: $15 for the first song, $10 for each additional. Minimum requirement of 2 songs.

    7. CT Folk Board members, staff, and family members are not eligible to participate.

    8. Song requirements: remember that they're looking for the quality of the song AND the quality of the performance. The recording quality for the submission is not their focus; they do not expect/require a professional recording.




Finalists are expected to perform in Edgerton Park, New Haven, CT on Saturday, September 10, 2011 and are responsible for their own hospitality, travel, and lodging if necessary. Two tickets to the Main Stage performance at the CT Folk Festival and Green Expo will be provided to each finalist.



Artists should not submit if they cannot fulfill the performance requirements.
