Located in the heart of the University of Kentucky campus, the venue features live music seven nights a week. Bands will be compensated for their performance, and the venue provides a 22-channel PA and professional sound engineer.



There is generally a crowd at Cosmic Charlie's, but local draw is definitely a plus. Generally, bands are allowed to keep 100% of door receipts and are expected to play 2-3 sets over the span of 2.5 to 3 hours. Shorter, 60-75 minute sets are the norm when multiple bands play on a single night. Charlie's accepts local and national acts from most genres of music, including rock, pop, folk, reggae, funk, country, hip-hop, and jazz. There is also live bluegrass every Sunday night.
