Summary

The Entertainment Industry brings millions of dollars into Iowa’s local economies, as well as an untold positive impact on the quality of life in local communities. The hard work and commitment that goes into a healthy and profitable entertainment business is difficult to sustain and often goes unrecognized. There are few events that bring together the multiple genres of Iowa Entertainment Industry so they can connect to each other and build Iowa’s entertainment infrastructure for the future.

The Crossroads Entertainment Conference is continuing to build connections and expand offerings to entertainment professionals beyond Iowa and across the Upper Midwest. The 2007 Conference saw over 600 attendees not only from Iowa, but Nebraska, Minnesota, Illinois and Wisconsin as well. The 2008 conference will be held at Court Center in downtown Des Moines on December 4, 2008. Performance showcases will be held throughout 5 stages with varying capacities ranging from 900 – 200 people.

The Crossroads Entertainment Conference is now accepting submissions exclusively from Sonicbids for showcase performance consideration. They are looking to book 10-15 bands for showcase performances. Compensation is offered, but is negotiated at the time of booking. The 2007 showcase artists included Tanner Taylor, Mr. Baber’s Neighbors, On a Pale horse, Aeon Gray, Wreckage of the Modern City, and DJ Starscream.
