Culturefest 2009

Culturefest is a music and arts celebration that seeks to honor the culture of Appalachia and other areas of the world. The festival is presented in order to raise awareness of multiculturalism in the region and to promote global community. Now in its 6th year, the festival presents numerous top-quality music acts and dance performances from around the world along with ethnic food, artisan vendors, a children’s village and around the clock drum circles.



This year’s Culturefest will be held at the beautiful Appalachian South Folk Life Center in Pipestem, West Virginia. The festival will be held for 3 days from September 10-13. There will be 2 stages for performing artists with nearly 30 acts performing at the festival. There are 2 slots reserved for Sonicbids artists. With an average attendance of 750, this event is perfect for intimate, community-oriented performances.



Performers will be compensated with $200 and a full weekend festival pass, along with one additional guest pass. These passes include cabin accomodations for the artists. This is a excellent opportunity for artists to gain great exposure in a fun environment.
