Summary

The Charlottesville Music Showcase operates a weekly music showcase near the University of Virginia, drawing a large audience base of students and locals.



The primary event is held every Wednesday night at Orbit Billiard's in the UVA "Corner" district in Charlottesville, VA. With special events held at various other regional locations from amphitheaters to vineyards to other larger indoor music venues.



Compensation includes a guarantee plus a percentage of bar sales. Meals and a bar tab are provided as well. The guarantee varies based on the artist and other factors including the number, if any, of opening acts.



The Charlottesville Music Showcase is sponsored by a number of local businesses and organizations including a local radio and TV talk show that broadcasts from many of the performances live on the radio with a television broadcast the following Saturday.



The Charlottesville Music Showcase provides quality production for the performing bands including high quality sound gear, 2 excellent sound engineers, a professional photographer, DMX lights with an experienced operator, a VJ mixing up to three live video feeds, video clips and animations through filters and effects creating a captivating experience that complements the band's performance and wows the audience.



Prominent past performers include Andy Waldeck of Egypt and Earth to Andy, Money Penny, Rude Rock Family, Jay Pun and Morwenna Lasko.



Please note that all genres are accepted except for the following: Holy Hip Hop, Adult Contemporary, Jazz, Contemporary Christian, Classical, Celtic, Comedy, and World Music.
