Dark Black Records Volume I CD Compilation

Dark Black Records (DBR) is accepting submissions for their first label compilation, scheduled for release in February 2005. DBR is looking for unique unsigned rock/punk/indie/emo bands to comprise the 15-20 tracks on the CD - at least three of which will be reserved for Sonicbids artists. Once the album is produced all selected bands will get 10 free copies of the CD to distribute as they see fit. The initial production run will be for 1000 units, and additional production will be funded by Dark Black Records.

CDs will be sold on the Dark Black Records website and in retail outlets like Tower Records, Sam Goody, Virgin Megastore, Zia Records, etc. In addition, DBR will be working with other online vendors like Amazon, CDBaby and Interpunk.com.



Genres accepted include: Rock, Punk, Emo, Indie, Alternative. DBR does NOT accept rap, death-metal or country.



Please note: Your submission fee will be used to offset the mastering, packaging and production costs of the CD. DBR reserves the right to require additional funds not to exceed $50 from selected artists who choose to participate. Also, in order to ensure the highest sound quality, selected artists may be asked to mail in a hard copy of their CD for transference onto the final master disc.



DBR is based in Phoenix, AZ, and the majority of our offline submissions are coming from the Southwestern United States. As such, our marketing and promotional campaigns will target these areas. Bands from all over will be judged equally, but should be aware that if selected, the product may not be available in traditional retail stores in their hometown.
