Summary

The David Patrone’s $10,000 Swing Dance Extravaganza is the biggest swing dance competition prize payout in the world. The event will run every Sunday night from January 6th to March 30th, 2008 from 5-8PM at Viejas Casino near San Diego, CA. Bands are brought in from all over the country to perform while averages of 100 to 400 swing dancers compete each night!

Bands from all over the country will be considered based on danceability, musical excellence, quality of entertainment, and presentation. Popularity with swing dancers is also a small consideration, but the primary focus will be on the quality of the musical performance. The entire event is run by one of Southern California's most successful band leaders and Jazz singers: David Patrone. Your EPK will be evaluated by David and the Swing Dance Instructors and judges.

At least one slot is reserved for a Sonicbids artist. However, they are hoping to fill at least three to four Sundays with Sonicbids bands. Performances will last for up to 4 hours.

Compensation begins at $1500 per band and will be significant and negotiated on an individual basis depending upon factors like travel and popularity. Established bands are encouraged to submit.

Past performers to this event include George Gee, Royal Crown Revue, Hot Rod Lincoln, Steve Lucky and the Rhumba Bums, Big Time Operator, Jonathan Stout, and of course, David Patrone.
