Summary

Desert Rocks is an annual music festival in Moab, Utah featuring funk, rock, reggae, bluegrass, folk, and blues. The 2008 festival will be held on Memorial Day weekend. The show will start Thursday May 22nd and continue through sunrise on Monday, May 26th. Sticking to Desert Rocks tradition, the music will begin each day at 2pm and will be fueled until the sun rises the next morning. Camping is encouraged.

The festival will be held on 40 acres of private property in Kane Creek Canyon 10 miles outside of Moab. The canyon is composed of mighty and majestic red rock cliffs and is home to world class climbing, base jumping, mountain biking, hiking and ATVing. An ancient indian ladder, the Colorado River, and petroglyphs can be viewed just off the road on the drive in.

Over the past three years Desert Rocks has undergone exponential growth. In 2005, 200 attended. In 2006, the crowd doubled to 400. The 2007 festival grew substantially with over 1,500 in attendance. The 2008 Desert Rocks is set to explode as the magic and excitement from the 2007 festival has people talking all over the United States.

The Desert Rocks production team is dedicated to paying attention to the fine details necessary to making the festival unique, exciting, and enjoyable for everyone. From lights and sound all the way to accommodations, Desert Rocks bands are given full on rock star treatment.

Each Desert Rocks band will be given the opportunity to have a professional DVD made of their set, an extreme adventure experience from one of the Desert Rocks sponsors (rafting, mountain biking, skydiving, or ATVing trip for the whole band), a 1-2 week promo tour throughout the four corners region complete and full promotion (advertised on Jambase, local radio, periodicals, and through posters).
