Diversafest (Dfest) 2006

Diversafest (DFEST), the most comprehensive music conference and festival in the Midwest, to be held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, July 7-8, 2006, includes two days of showcases and music conference panels designed to educate working musicians and impart invaluable information to artists in any stage of their career spanning a comprehensive list of topics, along with special instructional music clinics and workshops, plus one-on-one mentoring with A&R and music industry professionals.



The fifth annual Dfest Music Festival is held in the historic Boston District of Tulsa which is home to the very best music venues in Tulsa, Oklahoma, along with three outdoor concert stages which creates a block party with a festival atmosphere that attracts more than 6,000 music professionals, artists and music enthusiasts and fans every year to discover new artists who showcase during the two-day event. Dfest 2006 will feature 100 artist showcase slots on 10 stages, 20 of which will be guaranteed exclusively for Sonicbids artists, two days of music industry conference panels, clinics and a tradeshow, plus tons of opportunities to network with music industry professionals and other artists from all over the country. By submitting to Dfest 2006, you will be considered for dual opportunities, to be selected to showcase at Dfest 2006 and to be considered for selection on a featured Dfest artist compilation with A&R distribution.



Artists selected to showcase at Dfest 2006 are not monetarily compensated or provided lodging and they must provide their own transportation to and from Tulsa, however each member of every showcasing act will receive a complimentary registration ($150 value each) which admits entrance to all music conference panels, clinics, and tradeshow, plus each registrant is given a tradeshow bag filled with valuable goodies from Dfest sponsors. These showcasing artist registrations also admit entrance to special kick-off events, networking and industry parties where food and beverage are provided by Dfest and Dfest sponsors. In additional, all Dfest participants can receive a specially discounted room rate at our host hotel, the beautiful Downtown DoubleTree Hotel, where the conference panels, clinics, and tradeshow will be held. Showcasing artists must be able to perform a 40-minute set of original material. Artists who submit but are not selected to showcase will be able to purchase a substantially discounted registration to attend Dfest, as there are serious music industry contacts that can be made simply by attending Dfest even if you are not chosen to showcase. Selected artists will be notified no later than April 28, 2006.



Diversafest stands for diversity, meaning we accept all genres of music, from rock to reggae, hip-hop to country, indie to DJ, and on and on. Dfest 2006 will be its fifth successful year and is unique in that Dfest provides an intimate setting during the music conference to meet, be seen and network with music industry professionals, including management, booking, attorneys and A&R, giving artists from all over the country a real opportunity to be exposed to a gathering of music industry professionals. Dfest, along with re-energizing artists at any level in their career, can also help start the buzz or close the deal.
