Summary
Now in its eighth year, the DIY Music Festival takes place in Los Angeles on February 19-20, 2009 as part of the annual DIY Convention: Do It Yourself in Film, Music & Books. The festival is open to all styles and genres of music as long as itÂ’s created without assistance or funding from a multinational corporation.
The 2009 DIY Music Festival will again be highlighted a showcase in front of major music supervisors and labels co-sponsored by Bug Music, North America's largest independent music publisher. In addition, there will be a special dinner for the winning bands with veteran music industry publishers, marketers, executives, etc. where artists can get one-on-one advice.
This is not one of those conferences where there are hundreds of bands that play to no one. The purpose of DIY showcases is to target people in the music industry who will be interested in your music and are in a position to help you as an artist.
