The festival is open to all styles and genres of music as long as itÂ’s created without assistance or funding from a multinational corporation.

Just announced: One selected artist will receive a $500 travel stipend to attend the festival.

The 2011 DIY Music Festival will again be highlighted by a showcase in front of major music supervisors, music publishers, managers and other industry affiliates co-sponsored by Bug Music, North America's largest independent music publisher and home to the catalog of Kings of Leon, Iggy Pop and other luminaries. In addition, there will be a special dinner for the selected bands with veteran music industry publishers, marketers and executives where the artists receive one-on-one advice.

This is not a conference where hundreds of bands perform to empty rooms. The purpose of the DIY Music Festival is to target people in the music industry who will be interested in your music and are in a position to help you as an artist.
