Summary

The DIY Music Festival is part of the DIY Convention: Do It Yourself in Film, Music & Books. The event is centered around panels and workshops that focus on creating, promoting, protecting and distributing independent film, music and books. When you are accepted to the DIY Music Festival, you get a performance slot and free admission to the panels, parties and film screenings of the event.

Now in its seventh year, the DIY Music Festival takes place in New York City on October 7, 2006 and in Los Angeles from February 9-11, 2007. Each year more than 30 artists play DIY. The festival is open to all styles and genres of music as long as they are created without assistance or funding from a multinational corporation.

Past speakers at the event include Frank Black of the Pixies, Greg Attonito from the Bouncing Souls, Jonatha Brooke, Wayne Kramer, Darryl 'DMC' McDaniels of Run-DMC, John Waite, Doug Gillard of Guided by Voices and many, many more artists, entrepreneurs, filmmakers and authors.

Please note: Each submitting act will receive one pass to the event.
