Summary

Do Dah Day will celebrate its 29th year in 2008, which makes the event Birmingham's oldest outdoor music festival. Held in two of Southside's historic Highland Avenue parks, Do Dah Day is a celebrated tradition that is renowned for raising over $500,000 in the past 15 years for local animal charities. Don't miss out on the opportunity to play for over 40,000 people at one of the Southeast's most cherished springtime events!

Do Dah Day features two stages, and offers local, regional and national acts from a plethora of music genres. Last year's event was a huge success, thanks in part to the ten talented music artists selected to play the event, including Angie Aparo. Do Dah Day 2008 will be held on Saturday, May 17th in Caldwell and Rhodes Park in Birmingham, Alabama.

Do Dah Day is a 100% volunteer organization, and all of the event proceeds are donated to local animal charities. Thus, no monetary compensation or travel/lodging expenses are provided for artists selected to play the event. However, they will make every effort to find out-of-town artists discounted lodging in Birmingham, and do provide the following: 1) Free radio, TV and print publicity in the weeks leading up to the event, 2) booth space for bands to sell their cd's and merchandise (NO T-SHIRTS), and 3) refreshments and event t-shirts on the day of the event. There are 8-10 slots available for the event, and at least 7 of those slots will be filled by artists submitting through Sonicbids.
