Summary

The Down East Fairgrounds in Whitneyville, Maine will be the setting for the second annual Down East Country Fest on July 23, 2011. The goal is to provide Washington County with world-class international, national and regional musical acts in the country, bluegrass, Americana styles in a day long festival format. This year's headlining act will be award winning artist and songwriter Andy Griggs. At least 2 Sonicbids artist members will be selected to perform. Along with a performance slot, selected artists will receive $50, $50 gas card, catering, and 4 extra passes to the event/supporting musical act./n/nThe Down East Fairgrounds in Whitneyville, Maine will be the setting for the second annual Down East Country Fest to take place on July 23, 2011. There is one main stage for the festival events, and at least 5 acts will perform this year. A sound system will be provided at the venue, but artists are responsible for bringing their own instruments and any additional equipment.



About the festival:


The festival's goal is to promote, support, and host an annual event that will bring notoriety and a positive image to Down East Maine. Down East Country Fest will enable residents of Down East Maine to attend a world-class event, while local businesses will benefit immensely from the added revenue that concert-goers will bring to the Washington County Area.



It will attract world-famous artists as well as showcase outstanding local performers, which will direct public attention to the Down East Maine area and have a positive long- term effect on the tourism industry. Headliners for 2010's event were Country Star Michael Peterson and The Johnny Hiland Band.
