Summary

The Durango Song Contest was designed as a means to find 2 great artists to work with established, hit songwriters at the Durango Songwriter’s Expo in Santa Barbara. This is not another song contest offering cash prizes or gear, the Durango Song Contest is YOUR chance to write a song with a hit-maker.

Take advantage of this new and very special opportunity to
not only hang out, but to WRITE with hit songwriters at the very next Expo!

Two winners, one in each category (Pop/Rock and Country/Americana), will be selected. A maximum of Two songs per category will be reviewed. There are separate submissions for each category. Please be conscious of which category you are submitting for.

A panel of music industry professionals will select the winners. The winner in each category will receive free registration in the 2008 Santa Barbara EXPO (a $299 value).

This year’s Pop/Rock winner will get to write with hit songwriter and President of Midas Music, Keith Follese, who has had four #1 hits including The smash hit, "The Way You Love Me" "for Faith Hill" and the Country/Americana winner will get to write with SESAC Country Songwriters of the year, Sam and Annie Tate, who have had #1 hits for Rodney Atkins ("If You're Going Through Hell"), Emerson Drive ("Moments") and Reba McEntire ("Somebody").

Additionally, the winner of each category will also receive a one song publishing deal with either left winger/peermusic (Pop/Rock) or Midas Music Group(Country/Americana)!

Don’t miss this chance to not only fly to the country’s leading songwriter’s expo, but this once in a lifetime chance to write with these bona fide hit-makers.

Alyssa Moreno, the pop winner two years ago wrote with Jeffrey Steele at The Santa Barbara Expo two years ago and the song they wrote there will be the 3rd single on the new Rascal Flatts record!

The Durango Songwriter's Expo "Write With The Hitmakers" Contest is a songwriting contest that actually gets results and enhances the artists' career. Alissa Moreno, who won the pop/rock contest two years ago in the contest's first year, wrote with Jeffrey Steele at The Expo and that song ("Every Day") is an upcoming single from the already million selling new Rascal Flatts record. She's also now the lucky target of a substantial bidding war among major publishing companies who are fighting to see who gets to sign her. Richard Harris won last year's pop/rock contest and has just signed a major publishing deal with peermusic. Two years and two big success stories, pretty hard to beat for a songwriting contest!

Please note: Every artist who submits on or before December 15, 2007 will automatically be entered into a drawing for a FREE Santa Barbara Expo Registration, a $299 value!
