"I feel very fortunate that the ECMAs are a driving force that propels my music around the world! Their international trade missions have landed me showcases and festival spots from Memphis, TN to Glasgow, Scotland! The ECMAs partnering with Sonicbids is the perfect situation for independent artists! Their contribution of much-needed funds, to assist with travel to critical international showcase opportunities, is certainly a fabulous help!" - Ruth Minnikin

Accolades and Applause for East Coast Music Week

  • "This years ECMA’s were a truly amazing experience for me. The international one- on-one meetings have opened up a tremendous amount of doors for me, and have allowed for me to build very real, long term connections with some of the industry's top professionals. As a direct result of the international one-on-one meetings, a song from my sophomore album "False Alarm" received placement in a major US network television program. I highly recommend this amazing program and can't wait to take part again next year!"- Andy Brown, Recording Artist, NB

  • “Thanks so much for your great effort on our behalf. Your team was awesome. I was able to book several artists and will send along a list soon. The export training participants were very well prepared. I have to say of the seven or so years at the ECMA's this was the very best. I really got a lot done and enjoyed myself in the process”. - Phill McIntyre, New England Celtic Arts/ Skye Theatre Performing Arts Center (East Dixifield, ME, USA)

  • “On behalf of both Claire and myself I wanted to thank you both so much for making our first trip to the Maritimes so very memorable. The week was brilliantly organized, as far as we were concerned, and the facilities, resources and literature were all first-class. Of course, the most important factor was the music and this was consistently outstanding - you have such a wealth of talent over there and I heard some of the finest music I've heard in years. You are very lucky!” - Bob Butler & Claire Stein, Grapevine Music Agency (Devon, England, UK)

  • “Well, now that some of the dust has settled, and you guys might have had a chance to have a little rest, I thought that I would write to let you know some of the great outcomes from the ECMA week - for our festival anyway!First of all though, I wanted to say thank you. I am sure that you are well-used to hearing from all of your delegates and artists every year about the wonderful program and hospitality offered during the week, but I want to sincerely add to that sentiment that my week in the Maritimes not only resulted in some wonderful new relationships with great musicians, agents and organizers, but in a re-set and renewal of the inspiration for my entire work life. The genuine hospitality, incredible caliber of the music, obvious community and industry support and gorgeous setting really exemplified all of the most wonderful things about being involved in the ‘industry’, and I truly thank you for the experience. And to think! I was so close to not coming!

This year, the Woodford Folk Festival will feature a Newfoundland showcase – we’ve picked up a few non-NL-ers but will work out a way that it makes sense they’re here!
Coming to us as part via Shelley at Garrison Hill are: The Once (NL), The Dardanelles (NL), Duane Andrews & Dwayne Cote (NL &NS), Ron Hynes (NL), Sherman Downey & The Ambiguous Case (NL), Ennis (NL), Richard Wood & Gordon Belscher (PEI). In addition, working with Geoff Trio/Josh Daly, we will be featuring:
Matt Andersen (NS/ NB) and David Myles (NS/ NB). And on the cards...this year or next...Chuck and Albert (PEI), Charlie A’Court (NS), Samantha Robichaud (NB)….” - Chloe Goodyear, Woodford Folk Festival (Queensland, Australia)

  • "As always, participation in the International Program was an integral part of the ECMAs in 2011. The long-term benefits of the one-on-one meetings in particular are hard to underestim
