Edmonton Chante Festival 2010

Don't miss your LAST CHANCE to submit to the Edmonton Chante Festival which will span a full week of music from September 25th to October 2nd, 2010, presenting over 50 shows across 18 stages. Last year saw over 5,000 people in attendance; selected artists have 3 performances during the events and compensation, travel, and accommodations will be provided.



Please note, the Edmonton Chante Festival is mostly looking for artists who can perform in French (at least 30% of their performance)./n/nSince the fall of 2008, lovers of music have been enthralled by Edmonton Chante's new urban concept.



Now in its seventh year, the festival will span a full week of music from September 25th to October 2nd, 2010. Many of Edmonton's prime venues are eagerly waiting to welcome you to the city's cultural centre. More than 50 shows will be presented on 18 stages in various establishments located on Whyte Ave. (82 Ave), downtown and elsewhere in Edmonton, AB. Bars, bistros and restaurants will host a diverse cast of artists; last year saw over 5,000 people in attendance. Come discover new and exciting music all whilst you visit some of your old favorite locations.



Every artist of the programming will perform 3 times in different venues during the festival. The organization is mostly looking for artists who can perform in French (at least 30% of their performance). All genres are accepted and the festival is always looking for emerging, well-known, or unknown artists from across the world. Selected artists will be compensated for their performances as well as travel/lodging expenses (each contract to be discussed and arranged between artists and the festival organization).



Last year's performers include: Caracol, Celso Machado, H'SAO, MeLL, Lynda Thalie, Mae Anderson, Daniel ROA, Paul Cargnello, Salva Nomade Trio, Duo Neeland & Mayer, Tricia Foster, Raphaël Freynet, Barobliq, Joël Lavoie, JUNA, Amélie Lefebvre, Ouanani, Imposs, Numéro#, Tomàs Jensen, Saint-Pierre, Miss Guilbault duo, Ariane Mahrÿke Lemire, Jorane, Damien Robitaille, Les Cireux d'semelles, Oztara, Johnny Cajun, Les McDades, Mauvais Sort, Swing Manouche, La Raquette à claquettes, GoJo, Chicoutiguy, Pleïades, Kaya Laflamme and many more! Typically at least 20 artists play the festival each year.
