Summary

With the U.S. debut year under its belt, Emergenza will be in an additional 12 cities in the coming season – bringing the U.S. total up to 17 and the North American total to 21!! The festival is designed to assist independent bands in gaining exposure on the national and international music scene by giving them an opportunity to perform at some of the best live venues in the U.S. and Canada. Throughout the festival, bands of all musical styles proceed through various elimination rounds starting with a regional competition and culminating with the international final, to be held at Germany's Taubertal Open-Air Festival. The festival is set up in the format of a contest. In the first rounds, advancement is based on audience response. In later rounds, a professional jury is introduced.

Emergenza is an official scouting agent for Columbia Records Germany, a Sony Music Entertainment Record Company. The one-time enrollment fee guarantees one 30-minute show in the festival's first round. In addition, all bands who submit their demo will be considered for the "Best of Emergenza 2005" CD compilation, sponsored by Sennheiser. Emergenza is sponsored in part by Columbia Records Germany, Ernie Ball, D’Andrea, Regal Tip, Remo, Sennheiser, Music Man, Mapex, Sabian, St. Louis Music, Ovation Guitars and Sonicbids.
