The Esongwriter.com Songwriting Contest is a new international songwriting contest. Founded by a group of songwriters and entertainment legal professionals, this contest is unique in that Esongwriter is not offering cash, but prizes that will enhance the career of the independent songwriters and artists submitting./n/nThe Esongwriter.com Songwriting Contest is a new international songwriting contest. Founded by a group of songwriters and entertainment legal professionals, this contest is unique in that Esongwriter is not offering cash, but prizes that will enhance the career of the independent songwriters and artists submitting.



There are two contests each year, each with two age divisions:


  • The adult age division is for songwriters 18 and older

  • The youth division is for songwriters age 5-17


One winner will be picked from each division. A total of four winners are selected each contest year; two from the adult age division and two from the youth division. A grand prize winner will be picked from the four division winners.



The Top 4 winners will receive a prize package worth over $1200 including an award certificate, an artist development package (PKG worth $450) that includes One Sheet Press, an ebook and one private coaching consult, Making Music Magazine subscription, one hour free legal consult (worth $450) with an entertainment attorney, $25 dollars of free music downloads from itunes, an announcement on the CJC Music Radio show and discounts on industry products, gear and services. More prizes will be announced soon.


There are 26 genre categories that one can submit to including: Alternative, Acoustic, Blues, Ballads, ChildrenÂ’s, Classical, Comedy, Dance, Easy Listening, Electronic, Folk, Gospel, Holiday, Jazz , Latin, Metal, Patriotic, Pop, R&B, Rap, Reggae, Rock, Show Tunes, Spiritual, Trance, and World.


There are 2 submission packages to choose from:


  • PACKAGE 1: 1-4 song submissions $20 per song

  • PACKAGE 2: 5+ song submissions $15 per song (no limit)



Artists intending to submit more than 4 songs must first submit at the higher price, but will then receive discounts to honor their previous purchases.

They reserve the right to disqualify certain songs based on illicit content, so it is their general rule that no hardcore profanity will be accepted or automatic disqualification.

Entries will be judged by a panel of music industry professionals. The judges will give each song ratings based on originality, melody, composition, lyrics and performance. As long as reliable contact information is provided, all entrants will receive a rated evaluation of their song.
