EuroSonic 2007

EuroSonic is the European showcase festival for new talent from Europe. It is part of the Noorderslag Weekend that attracts yearly 2500 professionals from the European live music industry to Groningen.



From January 11-13, 2007, 170 acts will play at EuroSonic at 20 different venues throughout the city of Groningen in the Netherlands. There are at least 5 slots reserved for Sonicbids members from Europe. Artists who live 1,000 km or more from Groningen are eligible for a 1,000EUR travel subsidy. The festival will provide lodging and production to all selected artists. One member of each act will have access to visit the conference.



At the conference, panels are all about the European Music Industry. Some highlights from 2006 include: Cultural Policies of Europe, German Sounds of the World, Key Note Speech by Sean Moriarity, CEO of Ticketmaster; and Ethics and New Business Models.



All genres of music are accepted. Submissions are only open to European artists.



Please note: Once artist selections have been made, Sonicbids and EuroSonic will randomly select 5 artists that have been invited and live 1,000 km or more from Groningen. Once their distance to Groningen has been confirmed and they have proof of their travel arrangements, they will be paid half of the 1,000EUR travel subsidy. The other half will be paid once the act has played at EuroSonic.
