Summary
The 2013 Festival of the Arts takes place April 23-April 28 in Downtown Oklahoma City at the Festival Plaza and the Myriad Botanical Gardens.
The Performing Arts includes four stages of non-stop performing arts and entertainment, where nearly 200 entertainers of all ages donate their performances. The Arts Council of Oklahoma City is looking to book solo artists and bands to perform live at the event. Preferred genres include rock, pop, jazz, gospel, folk, R&B, dance and country and all bands and music must be suitable for the whole family (no profanity). All sound equipment is provided, but artists must supply their own instruments. Artists may sell merch but not clothing items.
Since 1967, the Festival of the Arts has been Oklahoma City's rite of spring. The Festival is an annual community celebration of the visual arts, performing arts and culinary arts. Festival of the Arts takes place in Downtown Oklahoma. The actual event area stretches from Walker Ave west to Robinson, and from Reno north to Sheridan. Activities occur in the Festival Plaza, Stage Center, the Myriad Botanical Gardens, and on Hudson Avenue. The festival also features activities for the entire family. There's face painting, poster artwork and pottery making for the kids as well as shopping, live performances and great food for the adults
