Celebrating its fifth year as the largest music networking event in the southeast, the 2006 Florida Music Festival is set to break records again, with more than 200 industry, 275 bands and over 25,000 music fans expected in attendance. There are 50 performance slots reserved for Sonicbids members. FMF is held each spring at fifteen venues over four packed days of the sunshine, rooftop parties, and rocking the streets of Downtown Orlando. This year's FMF will be held May 17-20th, 2006. The Florida Music Festival offers submitted artists the unique opportunity to attend the conferences and showcases free of charge, whether they are performing or just networking.

Some of last yearÂ’s artists included Big 10-4 (Universal) The Mile After (Drive-Thru/Rushmore), Inkwell (One Eleven, WEA) and Radio (Atlantic) all signing shortly after their FMF showcases. Other past artists have included Less Than Jake, The Academy Is..., Evergreen Terrace, The Early November, Everclear, Lit, and Mofro. VP of A&R for Columbia, Matt Pinfield as well as reps from Capitol, Atlantic, Drive- Thru, Fueled By Ramen, Lookout!, CAA, WMA, ASCAP, BMI, Purevolume and XM Unsigned to name just a few, were also in attendance.

2005 also saw launch of the Indie Film Jam at the Florida Music Festival, which features shorts and music videos. FMF2006 now welcomes the world of interactive gaming and digital media with Midway Games, EA Sports and Tiburon offering consultation on the licensing and song placement aspects of the industry, as well as the creative development of the games and their artists. PureVolume comes on board as the official web sponsor of FMF2006 and will attend the seminars and divulge the opportunities that web marketing affords the indie artist.

FMF is excited to announce a unique partnership with the Iceland Airwaves Music Festival and Iceland Air. Throughout the FMF weekend artists can register for a trip and showcase at the Iceland Airwaves Festival. Artists can also register to win a Les Paul Gibson guitar.

FMF 2006 submissions are open to all genres including acoustic, alternative, hard rock, pop, electronic and urban/hip-hop.

"This has become one of the premier music conferences in the country. I had a great time again this year, met a lot of people and saw a lot of great talent."
