Summary

FODfest is an annual concert tour which honors the life and ideals of the late Wall St. Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, and celebrates music as a universal language and community building platform. In addition to being a journalist, Danny was a talented musician who played in bands and jammed with people the world over. Now in its fourth year, FODfest takes place every October as part of Daniel Pearl World Music Days which is organized by the Daniel Pearl Foundation and celebrates Harmony for Humanity. FOD is an acronym for Friends of Danny and the tour features musicians who knew Danny and played music with him while he was alive and many who never knew him, but connect with his story.

FODfest is a unique acoustic performance format that is part concert, part jam session, and part song-swap. Most of the musicians performing are meeting for the first time on stage. A short promotional video can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7W6KBL08k8. There are nearly 60 videos from last year's tour posted at http://www.youtube.com/fodfest

FODfest is a non-profit organization and is produced by musician and songwriter Todd Mack, a former band mate and close friend of Pearl's. All participants agree to volunteer their performances. This year's sponsors include Skyline Music, Bergdorf Goodman, and many private donors.
