To accommodate last-minute submissions, the deadline for the 23rd Annual International Folk Alliance Conference has been extended through Thursday, December 2nd! No submissions will be accepted beyond December 2nd.

At least 100 Sonicbids artists will be selected to perform at the Conference's official showcases. As an integral part of the annual Folk Alliance event, the official showcases allow presenters, promoters, agents, record companies, and media people to be able to see artists who are working in the folk, world music and/n/nTo accommodate last-minute submissions, the deadline for the Annual International Folk Alliance Conference has been extended to Thursday, December 2nd! No submissions will be accepted beyond December 2nd.

At least 100 Sonicbids artists will be selected to perform at the Official Performance Alley Showcases of this 23rd annual conference, to be held in Memphis, Tennessee, USA from February 16-20, 2011.

As an integral part of the Folk Alliance Conference, the official showcases enable presenters, promoters, agents, record companies, and media people to be able to see artists who are working in the folk, world music and dance field. The emphasis is on emerging artists, or those who may be regionally well-known, or well known within their genre, who are looking to expand their opportunities.

More than 109 Sonicbids artists were selected to play Folk Alliance in 2010, including:




Artist selection will be based on multiple genres of music categories. Selected showcase performers also have the opportunity to perform private showcases in the host hotel.


Genres accepted include: Singer-Songwriter, Bluegrass, Blues, Traditional, Canadian Roots, Cajun/Zydeco, World, Celtic/British, Spoken Word, Childrens, Dance, Film and other like genres.


Please note: Any artist may apply to showcase. All artists selected to showcase will need to be a current Folk Alliance member or will need to purchase membership prior to the conference; register for the full conference; and provide technical and publicity information.
