Summary

Folk on the Water is a unique festival that takes place along the canal waterway in the beautiful green County of Warwickshire – set in the Heart of England. It is a FREE festival for people to attend and each year raises much needed funds for two local charities. It is funded through the support of local businesses who provide the boat, fuel, food, printing, transport, marketing, engineers and everything else that’s needed in order to run a 15-day festival that moves between the different concert venues.

All international acts are accommodated aboard an 8-berth narrow boat – with all meals provided, transport to and from the boat and the opportunity to try your hand navigating the boat, opening lock gates, tying clove-hitches with the mooring ropes and generally chilling out as the boat moves between each venue.

Concerts take place in a variety of venues – ranging from small tow-path English pubs – to larger outdoor stages set in a rural environment.

“Folk on the Water” has a variety of meanings – as Deep Purple fans will appreciate, however, we see it as a celebration of the coming together of communities who enjoy all types of music, love being beside the water – or maybe live on or near the water. If you’re looking for a mini Glastonbury – that is definitely not Folk on the Water. If you’re looking for something different and a chance to make some long lasting friends – this is definitely the festival for you.

The MD of the label, who provide our admin support travels, sleeps on the boat too. He’s pretty good on the tiller and also cooks a great English breakfast – when it’s his turn in the galley.
