Forecastle Festival 2007

The Forecastle Festival is the largest gathering of musicians, artists, and activists in the American Midwest. Founded in Louisville, KY, the scenic, outdoor event is equally based upon a three-part format: Music.Art.Activism. Combining the hardest working bands, legions of emerging artists, and multitudes of progressive environmental organizations ~ Forecastle is the place where the people come together. Heading into its sixth year, last year’s Forecastle Festival had over 10,000 people in attendance.

This year's confirmed headlining band is De La Soul.

The 2007 Forecastle Festival is looking for local, regional, and national artists in a variety of genres to come and play the two day event. Held at The Belvedere and Waterfront Park, there will be an East and West stage where selected bands perform and one stage will be dedicated to independent musicians. A total of 45 bands will play the festival, and 40 of the slots are for independent bands! In addition, there are a minumum of 5 performance slots reserved for Sonicbids artists. Selected artists will be compensated and provided with artist goodie bags in addition to extensive regional and national media exposure.

The event will combine national headliners, multiple stages, a regionally-curated art exhibition, fifty Midwest environmental orgs, educational panels, speakers, films, expanded extreme sports park, outdoor industry product demos, and plenty more. This year’s sponsors include Outside Magazine, Patagonia, American Spirit, Merrell, Pop Matters, Quest Outdoors, Red Bull North America, and many more.
