Forecastle is where the Midwest meets. Founded in Louisville, KY, the annual gathering is equal parts Music, Art, and Activism. A symposium for musicians, artists, and environmentalists, Forecastle connects the progressive Midwest. The 2008 fest is expected to draw over 10,000 people to the Louisville Waterfront ~ part of a scenic, $60 million dollar riverfront investment which draws 1.5 million visitors a year. With national headliners and expanded line-ups, the festival will provide an unforgettable experience for all Forecastle travelers, converging in Louisville from the Midwest and beyond.

Previous performers include De La Soul, Girl Talk, Particle, Sleater-Kinney and Apples in Stereo.

The 7th annual Forecastle Festival is seeking local, regional, and national artists in a variety of genres to come and play the three-day festival. Hosted at The Riverfront Belvedere in the heart of downtown Louisville, there will be dueling East and West stages where selected artists will perform. 5 slots on these stages are reserved for Sonicbids artists. Additional artists will be selected to perform at the festival's official after-party, less than (1) block away. There are an additional 5 slots reserved for Sonicbids artists here. All together, over 60 bands will play the festival, with 10 slots reserved exclusively for Sonicbids members.

Selected artists will be compensated and provided with an array of free products from Forecastle’s sponsors in the music and outdoor industries in addition to extensive promotion, advertising, publicity and media exposure in local, regional, and national markets.

The 7th annual event will combine dueling East/West music stages, the 2008 festival will blend with a regionally-curated art exhibition, fifty environmental organizations, speakers, panels, films, an expanded outdoor extreme sports park, eco-business expo, outdoor industry demos, and plenty more along the mighty Ohio River.
