This year's lineup will feature The Flaming Lips, Widespread Panic, Spoon, The Drive-By Truckers, Bassnectar, Minus the Bear, The New Deal, Lucero, and more.

The 2010 fest is expected to draw 25,000 people and 10 slots are reserved for Sonicbids artists./n/nThe Forecastle Festival is where the Midwest connects®. Founded in Louisville, KY, the annual gathering is equal parts Music, Art, and Activism. A symposium for musicians, artists, and environmentalists, Forecastle connects the progressive Midwest. The 2010 fest is expected to draw 25,000 people to the Louisville Waterfront.

This year's lineup will feature experimental rock pioneers The Flaming Lips and perennial jam band favorites Widespread Panic, along with Spoon, The Drive-By Truckers, Bassnectar, Minus the Bear, The New Deal, Lucero, a reunion by Cap ‘n Jazz, Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, Sara Watkins (of Nickel Creek), Dar Williams, EOTO, Break Science, Mimosa, Mucca Pazza, Company of Thieves, Savoy, BoomBox, Two Fresh and Morning Teleportation.


The 9th annual Forecastle Festival is seeking regional and national artists in a variety of genres to perform at the three-day, Riverfront festival. Hosted in the heart of downtown Louisville, there will be 4 stages, including dueling East and West stages. 5 Sonicbids artists will be selected to perform on these stages. An additional 5 Sonicbids artists will be selected for the festival's official kick-off and after-parties. All together, almost 100 bands will play the festival, with a minimum of 10 slots for Sonicbids members.

Selected artists will be compensated and provided with an array of free products from Forecastle's sponsors and partners in the music, art, and outdoor industries. In addition, artists will receive extensive promotion, advertising, publicity and media exposure in national, regional, and local markets.

The 9th annual Forecastle Festival will combine its music stages with a regionally-curated art exhibition, environmental and outdoor organizations, speakers, music industry panels, activism panels, environmental films, an expanded outdoor extreme sports park, eco-business expo, and plenty more along the mighty Ohio River.


Last year's lineup included: Widespread Panic, The Black Crowes, The Black Keys, The Avett Brothers, Zappa Plays Zappa, Yonder Mountain String Band, Umphrey's McGee, and many more. Previous performers include De La Soul, GZA, Girl Talk, Sleater-Kinney, Tortoise, Z-Trip, The Disco Biscuits, Del McCoury Band, Del the Funky Homosapien, Dr. Dog, Ekoostik Hookah, Margot and the Nuclear So and So's, and The Apples in Stereo.
