Summary

Now in its 13th year, the Four Corners Folk Festival is a 3-day outdoor festival featuring more than 15 dynamic live musical performances from various genres: blues, folk rock, bluegrass, newgrass, Celtic, Cajun and everything in between with an acoustic bent. The festival takes place at Reservoir Hill in Pagosa Springs, Colorado August 29-31, 2008. The vibe is family-friendly and the audience is extremely music-savvy.

Performers range from up and coming to well-known artists - all of whom are tremendously talented musicians. There is a one performance slot reserved specifically for an emerging artist that comes through Sonicbids. The selected artist will perform a 45 minute set on Friday. The selected artist will receive $500.

All genres are accepted, but must be compatible with the roots music theme (i.e. an African drumming group could work; hard core rap probably wouldn’t fly). Performers confirmed for this year's festival include Earl Scruggs, The Infamous Stringdusters, The Greencards, Crooked Still, The Belleville Outfit, Boulder Acoustic Society (who were last year's Sonicbids selectee), Anne & Pete Sibley and more.

Past event performers include Sam Bush, Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, Nickel Creek, Jerry Douglas, Maura O’Connell, Natalie MacMaster, Laura Love, Tim O’Brien, Darrell Scott, Peter Rowan, John Hartford, Eileen Ivers, Lunasa, Eileen Ivers, John Gorka, Eddie From Ohio, Tony Furtado, Kelly Joe Phelps, the subdudes and Donna the Buffalo.
