Summary

A compelling new TV series, written by Neil LaBute one of Hollywood's most respected film writers/directors (Wicker Man, Lakeview Terrace, The Company Of Man), focuses on that very significant human gesture: the connection between individuals and how we are all interconnected in ways not even known to us. The series will primarily air on DirecTV’s Audience Network, as well as various networks around the world.

Artists can submit up to 3 songs for consideration – but they MUST be targeted to the specifically stated reference/samples listed below. Please do not just pitch your projects generally – production is ONLY considering the referenced styles.

The artists / songwriters would receive applicable performance royalties from the series broadcasts as compensation (no upfront licensing fees). Writers must be registered with a performance rights organization (ex. ASCAP, BMI, SESAC) to receive performance royalties. This listing is for a "Direct Placement." Selected artists will work directly with decision makers for possible inclusion in the series.

The series is seeking songs/recordings for the following stylistic spots (original songs, NOT covers by the referenced artists - these are just for stylistic reference ; indie and emerging artists and songwriter/producers welcome):

  • SPOT A: Smooth Hipster ala: Jason Mraz, John Mayer, John McLaughlin, Gavin DeGraw

  • SPOT B: Cool Rock/Pop ala: Coldplay, OneRepublic, Snow Patrol

  • SPOT C: Classic AC/Pop ala: Elton John, Celine Dion, Sade, Jewel, Sting, Phil Collins

  • SPOT D: Smooth R&B ala: John Legend, Alysha Keys, Ne-Yo, Usher/Guetta

  • SPOT E: Alt Folk/Rock ala: Mumford & Sons, Lumineers, Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes

  • SPOT F: Alt/Contemporary Rock ala: Maroon 5, Train, Lifehouse, The Fray

  • SPOT G: High End Jazz or Blues ala: Spiro Gyra, Dave Koz, Lee Ritenour

Plot summary:

A compelling new TV series, written by one of Hollywood's most respected film writers/directors, focuses on that very significant human gesture: the connection between individuals and how we are all interconnected in ways not even known to us. Taking place in one restaurant, each week we eavesdrop on a new coupling, with one character from the previous episode sitting down in conversation with someone new from his or her life. We witness two distinct moments from each person's world, following these threads of connective tissue through each episode all the way to our logical yet unexpected season finale.
