Summary

Gary Allen's Music City Beat is an international songwriting contest for amateurs and professionals. Founded in 2005 by Gary Allen drummer/songwriter/founding member of the Grammy award winning group, The Charlie Daniels Band. Gary Allen, drummer from The Charlie Daniels Band (The Devil Went Down To Georgia, The Souths Going To Do It Again!, Long Haired Country Boy), Grammy award winner JJ Cale (Cocaine, After Midnight, Call Me The Breeze) and Opry Star Stonewall Jackson (Don't Be Angry, Waterloo) are seeking original songs to evaluate for use by bands, soundtracks and licensing through his connections as a BMI writer and performer. Year five of this international competition will be featured in The Examiner, My Space, Reverbnation, Facebook, and in Gary Allen's Music City Beat monthly newsletter.

Prizes:

  • The winner will be featured on Gary's new official website the Music City Beat. The new website will be promoted through all social networks including Facebook, Twitter, Fan Bridge, My Space, Google and Yahoo search engines.

  • You will receive a personal review of your music from Gary that you may use for liner notes, bio, your website etc. You retain all rights to all our promotional material to use as you choose.

  • Winners and runners up will be featured in Gary Allen's Music City Beat newsletter, where Nashville's music elite go for what's news. We will link up your website with our newsletter and website as well.

  • Your CD or winning track will be played and distributed weekly at Music City Underground meetings in my Nashville, Tennessee studio (formally Play It Again Jam). Music City's longest running pro musicians party/meet & greet, that includes an audience of investors, talent scouts, A&R, radio programming directors as well as recording artists and label management. Gary has sponsored this event and hosted it since 2005.

  • Jack Daniels Lynchburg Cake and Candy made with Tennessee Jack Daniels Whiskey will send you their favorite item of the month. (The chocolate whiskey balls are a favorite with winners)
