Summary

Get The Word Out is a showcase for underground artists that began in 2005 at the New Expressions night club in Philadelphia, PA. The event is now the hottest showcase in the area. It features all genres except for hard rock and metal, and is currently accepting submissions from local bands, DJ’s. and solo acts as well as artists touring from as far as New Jersey and New York only.



The showcase is presented three nights a week from Thursday to Saturday, and generally consists of 6 solo acts and/or 3 bands per night. DJ’s are booked on a three week basis and must provide their own promotion. Bands must be able to draw at least 10 people in order to be booked, and solo acts must be able to draw at least 5.



Bands are offered 30-45 minute sets, and solo acts are offered 15-20 minute sets. DJ’s are compensated with 50% of the door. Bands are compensated with 20%-30% of the door based on their draw.



A PA system and sound engineer are provided. Past artists who have performed in the Get The Word Out Showcase include The Curd, John Fonda, Singsation, Dolo, Prep, Jkniz, Rm6, and more.
