Gibson Acoustic Guitar, along with HATCHfest and KMMS 95.1 “The Moose” promote the Gibson Acoustic Guitar New Musician Award every year to recognize one outstanding musician for their talent. The winner will be selected by a panel of entertainment industry executives with guitar performance, radio, music production, promotions and film experience. The award will be presented at HATCHfest in Bozeman, Montana, during the week of October 1-4, 2008.

The award winner will be invited to perform in concert at HATCHfest. The multiple day festival draws over 10,000 attendees, including music industry mentors and executives, as well as continued mentorship and support from industry insiders. Past music mentors have included Jackson Browne, J.D. Souther and Tony Furtado, and past music industry executives Ray Gmeiner, VP of Promotion for Virgin Records, Sean O'Connell, CEO of Music Allies, Jeff Cook, VP of Promotions for New West Records and Jenni Sperandeo with Astralwerks/EMI.

One Sonicbids artist will be selected to receive this award. Entrants must not be currently signed with any major record label as this contest is designed to discover new and unique talent. Submissions should feature and showcase acoustic guitar in genres ranging from Rock to Country, Blues to Gospel and anything in between.

Along with being invited to perform at HATCHfest, the talented award recipient will also receive a custom Gibson Acoustic Guitar valued at $5,000. Past winners have also received free studio time, recording equipment and professional engineering, recording and marketing advice all donated by HATCHfest’s panel of music mentors. The Gibson Acoustic Guitar New Musician Award winner will also be interviewed for television, radio and news outlets. Travel and accommodations will be provided for the winner.

Past winners include Brandy Vaughan, Chris Webster, Marshall McLean and Olivea Watson.
