Summary

Gip’s Juke Joint is looking for blues artists to perform, especially authentic, southern and Mississippi hill country. They pass the hat around and the band can usually make $200-500. There is a house PA and other equipment can be provided upon advance notice.

Gip’s Juke Joint has been around for over 50 years and is the last remaining juke joint in the Birmingham area. It is a private location and artists love to play there because it throws them back to a simpler era. Set times are flexible, but can often be 2 hours or it can turn into a jam session. It all depends on the artist’s wishes and the musicians who stop by that evening.

Past peformers include Willie King, Sam Lay, Cedric Burnside & Lightnin' Malcom, Little G Weevil, Satan & Adam, Mo' Blues, John-Alex Mason, Po monkey, Kendra Sutton, Shar Baby, Elnora Spencer, Mickey Junior & the Stone Cold Band, Blues Boy Willie.
