Artists will be compensated from cover charges and at least 10 Sonicbids bands will be selected to perform from this listing./n/nThe beginning of 2010 brings new life as the Giving Tree Cafe is scheduled to open on Wednesday, January 13th. Giving Tree Cafe will be occupying the former ABC Cafe Space in lower Collegetown. Artists will be compensated from door receipts and at least 10 Sonicbids bands will be selected to perform from this listing. A basic PA system is available for performers.


For many years, the corner of Stewart Avenue and Osmun Place has been the home of great dining and fine entertainment. The summer of 2009 brought the Ithaca community to the end of an era, the ABC Cafe closed its doors after nearly 30 years of serving the community. The Giving Tree Cafe will offer the same vibrant, community atmosphere provided in the past, as well as continuing with an exclusive vegetarian menu, local art dispays, live regional music and much more.


Giving Tree Cafe owners/operators Ananda Barreno, Rob Delphous and Sean Lunny are all former ABC Cafe employees committed to providing the Ithaca area with an opportunity for fine vegetarian cuisine, in a casual atmosphere. The cafe offers an extensive lunch and dinner menu, with a mouth watering weekend brunch that has defined lower Collegetown of Ithaca for many years. In addition to the nightly international specials, look for delicious baked goods in the coffeeshop/bakery, complete with specialty coffee and tea beverages in a comfortable, convenient environment.

The Giving Tree Cafe offers vegetarian fare, providing vegan and allergy sensitive options whenever possible. Monthly art shows and live music on most nights of the week help define the space as more than just a restaurant, but a place for gathering and fostering community. Stop by and say hello, the cafe is located at 310 Stewart Avenue (right next to the Chapter House), and is open Tuesday through Sunday.
