Summary

The Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest (GAAF) is a free, weekend-long event that features artists, open studios and live entertainment. Experience art, theater, music, as well as food and drink, on the cobblestone streets of the Glenwood Avenue Arts District in Chicago’s historic Rogers Park neighborhood.

The festival kick-off event will be Friday, August 16th, 2013. The festival itself will be Saturday and Sunday, August 17th-17th, 2013, noon to 8pm. There are 3 outdoor stages and 4 music venues; approximately 36 artists will play on festival stages and 20-30 on venue stages. Submissions for this opportunity will be considered for all stages and post-festival parties. One Sonicbids artists is guaranteed a spot at the festival.

Compensation is based on the act and the time slot. There is no admission charge, suggested donation or gated point of entry. The ambiance of the festival is enhanced by the fest spilling into the neighborhood and the neighborhood spilling unrestricted into the fest. Local commercial sponsors provide the support to maintain the free festival. Visitors are encouraged to purchase arts and crafts, food and beverages.

The Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest takes place in the Glenwood Avenue Arts District on Chicago’s North Side, in the heart of Rogers Park, on Glenwood Ave., 6900 – 7000 North (between Farwell and Lunt) and the 1400 block of Morse Avenue, steps from the Morse Ave stop on the CTA Red Line. Outdoor fest and many art studios are handicapped accessible. The event has been running for over 10 years!
